No more "sisig" for you my dear
Been craving for sisig for more than two years now until yesterday, I, my housemates and a common friend, agreed to order sisig from Manila Bay (in Seattle).
All of us just had a few servings of it. Three fourths of our meals was left untouched. Just as the food was being served, I knew there's something wrong with it. First, it was served in styrofoams. Second, it does not sizzles at all and no Philippine lemon/lime was in sight. Third, it looks like a very very pale Adobo.
Now, my companions are blaming me for wasting US$32.00 (US$8/per meal) since I was the one who recommended it. Also, their canned Mango juice sells for US$2, US$1.15cents more than those being sold in Filipino stores here. The only consolation though was the halo halo (mix-mix).
Anyway, we're still hungry so we headed to Uwajimaya - Seattle. They ordered some Thai food while I had Kimchi Rice and a Korean Cinnamon Punch.
Now that I mentioned about Korean, I finished watching the whole episodes of My Girl! What could be a better way to reward myself for taking time to watch 16 episodes? Well, buy myself a Seattle snowglobe and I did yesterday. Bashya! ;)
Around 7pm, me, my housemates (Hugo, Ryan) and our common friends (Kahlil and Chris) went to Fred's Rivertown Ale House in Snohomish. Had some Coconut Prawns, Shirley Temple (again) and a Blackthorn Ale (hard apple cider) that tastes (of course) like vinegar. Hehehe sorry but am not really into alcoholic drinks. Pang pulutan lang ako. Libre ule ako kagabi, ang saya no? Two days in a row! :p
My housemate came home last night from his 2-week vacation in Mexico. He bought me an Azteca plate (which looks more like an ashtray) and a pack of Mexican milk candies (Dulce de Lagos) with walnuts.
So this is my 2nd week of being unemployed. Got a voicemail message from a lady who asked me to call back so they can schedule an interview. Better job position title (Data Systems Specialist). It pays well. Work location is in Seattle for a telecom company. I met the qualifications but upon reviewing the job responsibilites, I know it is not my kind of job. So, I did not called her back.
Now will you please excuse me for I need to go downstairs to play karaoke with our common friends (former co-workers). As they'd say, a Filipina can't say "NO" to karaoke!. ;)
